At a special meeting on June 13, the Poudre School District Board of Education met in Executive Session to review 15 applications for the Interim Superintendent position. The applications came from both within the state of Colorado and around the country.
The Board named three finalists that most closely met their criteria:
Mr. Sarchet retired from Poudre School District in July 2010. He worked for PSD as CFO from 1994 to 2000 when he was promoted to Assistant Superintendent of Business Services. Prior to working for PSD, Mr. Sarchet was the Business Manager-Controller for Weld County School District No. 6 in Greeley as well as Supervisor of Accounting. Mr. Sarchet's professional history also includes experience in the private sector as CFO for an affiliate of Children's Hospital and Cost Reimbursement Specialist of Children's Hospital in Denver. Mr. Sarchet holds a Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Administration from the University of Northern Colorado and a Masters of Science in Management from Regis University.
Dr. Judy Skupa
Dr. Skupa is currently the Deputy Superintendent for Thompson School District in Loveland where she has worked since 2009. Prior to this she was the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum Instruction and the Director of Curriculum for Reading and Literacy for Boulder Valley School District. Dr. Skupa has experience as a Curriculum Director, Reading Specialist, Curriculum Consultant and First Grade Teacher. She holds a Bachelors of Science Degree in Elementary Education and a Masters of Arts in Education from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs and a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Texas at Austin.
Dr. Nancy Wright
Dr. Wright is currently retired. She served as Superintendent of Schools for Bear Valley Unified School District in California from 2009-2010 and Superintendent of Falcon School District #49 in Colorado from 2006-2008. Prior to this, she was Interim Superintendent for PSD from 2004-2005 . From 1998 to 2003, Dr. Wright was Superintendent of Schools for Manitou Springs School District in Colorado and Executive Director for Education, Littleton Public Schools from 1994 to 1998. Dr. Wright has additional education experience as a principal and executive director of curriculum and instruction in Colorado Springs as well as positions with the Colorado Department of Education. Dr. Wright holds a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Education from Wright State University in Ohio, a Masters of Arts Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Colorado, Boulder and an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University in Florida.
