Chess Tournaments

PSD Scholastic Chess Association: dedicated to creating a love of chess in students in the district.  The Chess Association works with school chess clubs to increase the awareness of the benefits of playing chess, such as problem solving, spatial relationships, and critical thinking.  The association runs several tournaments throughout the school year.

November 7 - Johnson

January 23 - Tavelli

*Individual AND team awards will be given.  If you don't have a team, you're still invited to participate!!!

 

 

 

CSU-PSD Tournament: Saturday, April 3, 2010

*Please plan to stay at the tournament to supervise your child.  Do not leave your child at the tournament without adult supervision.

*If you do not register until the day of the tournament, PLEASE ARRIVE EARLY as we do our very best to start on time.
 

This tournament will have a RATED section.  You do not have to a rated player to participate, however, if you are rated, please be sure to include your rating, USCF number, and expiration date.

 

We look forward to seeing you all on April 3!  We had a record high number of participants at the team tournament.  126 students participated at Tavelli! 

 

*These tournaments are only open to students who LIVE within the boundaries of PSD.  Any student within the age requirements can participate.  This includes PSD students, charter school, private school and home school students.
