Student transportation has long been a part of the PSD community. The first fleet of 7-horse-drawn vans were purchased in 1913 to transport 166 students into Cache La Poudre school in LaPorte.
Since then, the PSD fleet has grown to 150 buses that serve 1,800 square miles! We are proud of our heritage and look forward to continued success in the next 100 years.
Is my student eligible to ride the bus?
Transportation eligibility for students is based upon the distance between their home and their neighborhood school (see chart below). Students that live outside of these walk areas can ride the bus. Students that live inside of these limits may be eligible to ride the bus as part of their educational program or by application. Click here to access the Applications page for more information.
| Grade level | Distance from neighborhood school |
|---|
| Elementary School | 1 mile |
| Junior High | 1 1/2 mile |
| High School | 2 mile |
