As a new Classified Employee to PSD you must complete the following steps:
- Complete new hire paperwork and background check before you report to work. As soon as possible go to the Human Resources/Payroll office located at the Johannsen Support Services Center (JSSC), 2407 Laporte Ave, Fort Collins, CO 80521.
- Payroll Paperwork Information and Deadlines
- Background check process: All classified employees must undergo a background check including fingerprinting. If you are hired in August, please call ahead and schedule a fingerprint appointment. Call (970) 490-3488 to schedule an appointment.
- Activate your PSD email account. After completion of the new hire paperwork a welcome letter will be mailed to you with instructions on how to activate your PSD email account. You may also contact your Building Technology Coordinator (BTC) or call the Technology Help Desk at 490-3456.
- Attend a Benefits Orientation. If your position includes benefits an eligibility notice will be mailed to you explaining your benefits options. If you are eligible for benefits attend a Benefits Orientation. Register for a Benefits Orientation using Avatar, the Professional Development Management System. You will need your PSD email username and password to log into the Avatar system. For more information about

- Attend the New Classified Employee Welcome session. All new classified employees should attend this class. You will meet the Superintendent of Schools, Nancy Wright, Ed.D., and other central office personnel and learn about employee programs, policies and procedures, training opportunities, general information about PSD and what classified employees need to know. Register to attend using Avatar, the Professional Development Management System. You will need your PSD email username and password to log into the Avatar system.
