Benefits FAQ

Poudre School District is committed to providing an environment that promotes a healthy employee population able to serve our students at the highest level.  To help us achieve this goal, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, and life insurance as well as other programs.

For what percentage of benefits will I be eligible?
Eligibility for benefits corresponds with an employee's contract percentage. An employee with a 46 consecutive day or greater contract of 100 percent receives full benefits. A 70-99.99% contract for 46 consecutive days or greater qualifies for partial benefits under the PP0-2 plan.

What percentage of benefits does the district pay?
The district pays all or part of your medical, dental and life insurance coverage depending on the percentage contract you have.

What health plan options are offered?
Poudre School District offers three-- the EPO, the PPO-1 & PPO-2 plan. Also available is the Alternate Plan, which is hospital coverage only. This option is usually selected when the employee is covered on a group health plan elsewhere. The district offers a dental plan, which works like a typical indemnity plan. Also included in the benefits is Life Insurance, which is automatic when the employee has full benefits and optional when eligible for partial benefits.

What voluntary benefits are also offered?
These programs include vision care, disability income protection, tax-sheltered annuities, additional life insurance, a voluntary investment program, and cancer insurance.
