Classified Schedule
There are two different Classified Salary Schedules. The H or Hourly Salary Schedule includes positions that are considered hourly, non-exempt positions. Individuals who hold these positions are paid by the hour, and will receive compensation for working overtime. An individual working on the Y salary schedule however, does not receive compensation for working over time and is considered salaried exempt. The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) has guidelines, which determine positions as Professional, Executive, or Administrative and therefore are determined as exemptions from overtime compensation.
