American Government students at Poudre High School came face-to-face with local political candidates during two televised political forums to be aired on PSD Cable Channel 10.

PHS students served as moderators, while several other students asked questions during the forums, which were held at the Johannsen Support Services Center. The first forum featured District 52 candidates Rep. John Kefalas and challenger Bob Morain. The second forum featured District 53 candidates Rep. Randy Fischer and challenger Dane Brandt.

The student-produced forums will also be broadcast on PSD Channel 10 over Comcast Cable (air times and dates will be announced after the forum is taped).

“This is a great service-learning project that allows young adults to exercise civic responsibility and serve the community in a meaningful way,” said Kathie Kunz, PHS American Government teacher.
