PSD Announces Plans for 2012 High School Graduation Ceremonies

Poudre School District’s graduating class of 2012 has many reasons to celebrate. Approximately 1,800 seniors met PSD graduation requirements, as well as created life-long memories and made important decisions about their futures. Seniors were honored for their tremendous accomplishments during PSD commencement exercises May 24-26.

Class of 2012 accomplishments:

PSD’s college-bound seniors were offered approximately 37 million in academic scholarships.

•  10 PSD National Merit scholars: National Merit Scholars earned this elite designation after a two-year testing process. Finalists selected score in the top 1% academically among Colorado seniors.

•  Six PSD Daniels Fund Scholars:  Seniors selected as Daniels Scholars have demonstrated strong character and determination to succeed in life. They receive funding to attend the college or university of their choice.

90 Poudre High School International Baccalaureate graduates: To earn an IB diploma, students must complete the rigorous two-year IB curriculum and score a minimum of 24 points on IB exams.

PSD graduates have been accepted to prestigious universities like Stanford, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Notre Dame, Duke, Yale, Wake Forest, Columbia, and U.S. military academies.
