In an effort to help streamline efforts to support PSD students and staff who have been impacted by the High Park Fire, PSD named Patrick Kind, principal of the mountain schools, as the High Park Fire Community Liaison in mid June.

Since the fire broke out on June 10, PSD staff have worked tirelessly to support students and staff members who were directly impacted by the fire. More than $2,500 in gift cards has been distributed to impacted families and staff members, two BBQ picnics have been coordinated for families, clothing and food solicited for displaced families and more than $500 has been donated to the American Red Cross from PSD staff members.

As the crisis moves from response to recovery, PSD remains committed to helping students and staff through this difficult time.

As the community liaison, Mr. Kind will work to assist students and staff as they seek resources to deal with the aftermath of the destructive fire. This position will be re-evaluated in mid July to determine how long it needs to remain in effect.
