As young students prepare to head back to school, they may be excited, but also apprehensive about riding a school bus. To help ease any fears and remind them of safety skills, Buster the Bus, a miniature robotic school bus from the Poudre School District Transportation department, has been making the rounds at elementary schools.
Young students visited with Buster this week through the I Walk & Ride Safely program, learning how to safely ride the bus or walk to school. Local law enforcement officers were on hand to teach the students how to use crosswalks and watch and listen for traffic.
The free I Walk & Ride Safely program is sponsored by PSD, the Fort Collins Police Department, and the Larimer County Sheriff’s Department. For more information, call the PSD Transportation training department at 490-3141 or 490-3578, or check out Buster the Bus on Facebook.
