Superintendent Profile Wife: Liz Wilson Children: 3 daughters Age: 53 High school education: John F. Kennedy High School, Silver Spring, Md.
College education: Bachelor’s degree, University of Maryland, bachelor’s in philosophy and English; Idaho State University, master’s, curriculum and supervision; University of Wyoming, Ph.D., curriculum and instruction.
Teaching and administrative experience: teacher, coach, middle school principal, and director of curriculum in two Wyoming school districts from 1976 to 1994; Superintendent in Sublette, Wyoming School District #1, 1994-2000; Superintendent in Hermiston, Oregon, 2000-2005; Superintendent of Schools for Poudre School District, 2005 to present.
Beliefs that guide my work:
- The fundamental learning connection is between student and teacher.
- We must nourish great teachers, who make a difference in the lives of our children.
- Principals fundamentally influence improved student achievement.
- Public education is the most vital force in our country’s history.
