  • Attention students who bike to school...  Blevins is changing expectations for students who ride bikes to school.  With the exception of those students who use the sidewalk by the Tennis Courts to leave school property on their bicycle, Blevins will require students to dismount their bikes when they reach school property.  Blevins has experienced too many "close calls" with bikes and pedestrians, and bikes and cars.  Thank you in advance for your help with this issue.
  • The 7th grade football team defeated Lincoln 32-6 on Wednesday to improve their record to 6-2.  Henry Powell, Josh Rhead, and Hunter Pixley scored touchdowns.  Ben Blumhardt and Jacoby Benger each scored 2 -point conversions.

Great season!  The Blevins Middle School football program (7th and 8th grade), ended the season with a 12-4 record.  There is not another Middle School in the district that had a better combined record.  Great Job!!!
Equipment turn-in is next Wednesday.  Please make sure everything is washed.

The game against Lincoln had many highlights.  Christian Jones had 2 TD runs in the game.  Nathan Sonnenberg scored on a nice TD run in the 2nd quarter.  Marc Bachman threw a TD pass to Isiah Hines.  That makes 14 of 15 games that Bachman played in at Blevins where he threw at least 1 TD pass.  And Levi Dixon scored on a 50 yard reverse.  David Morales was 5 for 5 on extra points.
The defense finished the season with its third shutout in a row.  Zachary Hahn and Levi Dixon each had an interception and Will Haynes recovered a fumble.

  • The 7th grade football team lost 12-0 to a VERY good Webber football team.  The offense was inside the 20-yard line three times and could not get into the endzone.  The defense did an OUTSTANDING job holding the high power Webber offense to only 6 points on offense.  Griffin Hayes had an interception, while Daniel Dideriksen did a great job at corner.  The loss drops the 7th grade record to 5-2 with their last game of the season this Wednesday against Lincoln.

The Bruins only score came late in the 2nd quarter on a 1 yard TD run by Marc Bachman.  Marc also ran in the 2 point conversion and made the score 8-0.  In the second half the Bruins controlled the ball on offense with strong running from Christian Jones and Brandon Groesbeck.
The defense was led by Luis Perez, who had an outstanding game at defensive tackle, including a 4th down stop with a minute to play in the game.  Isiah Hines also played well on  defense with some key tackles in the secondary.
The JV team had it's best performance of the year.  A dominating performance from both the offense and the defense led to a 12-6 victory.  Offensively, the quarterback duo of Tanner Soares and Aaron Graham led a stable of running backs to three long drives, two of which resulted in touchdowns.  Josh Glenn, Ricky Reyes, Nathan Sonnenberg and Dominic Jackson ran all over the Lesher JV defense to help sustain these impressive drives.  On defense, aside from one big run for a score, the JV defense was too much to handle, led by the run-stuffing tackle Jacob Scott.

  • The 8th grade football team beat Webber on Thursday 23-14.  The team once again played outstanding on special teams.  David Morales once again kicked great, pinning the Panthers deep in their own end on all kickoffs and he also made his only PAT attempt.  Isiah Hines returned a kick for a touchdown and Levi Dixon had some great punt and kick returns.
Jon Kreul scored a touchdown in the 1st half, and ran in two 2 point conversions.  Marc Bachman threw a great pass to Levi Dixon for a touchdown.  The defense battled hard and the offensive line dominated the line of scrimmage.  The team plays at Boltz on Tuesday in a game that could end up being for the District championship.  Good luck, boys!!
The JV team was able to pull off their first win of the season, 6-0.  The JV offense saw much improvement this week, as they were able to drive the ball 60 yards down to the goal-line.  Ricky Reyes capped off the long drive with a tough run, dragging two defenders into the endzone.  Defensively, some hard hitting and 3 takeaways helped the JV defense pitch a shutout.

The JV team lost 8-0.  Aaron Martinez had a couple good runs to lead the team.
  • Great job on magazine sales!  We are at $17,000 now, our goal is $25,000.  Because of all the illness this week, we are extending the sales 1 more week.  If we hit our goal, Mr. Linehan and Mr. Davis will get mohawks that are painted burgundy and silver.  Let's finish strong!

The defense played great and held Wellington scoreless.
David Morales made 3 out of 5 extra point attempts and kicked 3 balls into the endzone for touchbacks.  This was David's first game as a kicker for the team.
In the second half, the JV played the entire half.  They played hard vs. Wellington's varsity and only gave up 1 TD to the Eagles.
In the JV game we lost 6-0.  Highlights of the game were 2 pass plays.  One was thrown by Tanner Soares to Luke Boland, and another from Tanner Soares to Zachary Hahn.  Both passes were over 30 yards.
