BEST
Welcome Past
and New Members!
I’m excited to begin the new year as the new BEST facilitator. We have a lot of fun and exciting things coming up, as well as our usual tasks that help keep Bacon as environmentally friendly as possible. First of all, I’d like to let you know our meeting schedule. As a staff, we have very few open mornings, so unfortunately BEST and our regular staff meetings run into a time conflict. Therefore, we WON’T BE ABLE TO MEET EVERY WEEK. The meeting times for the first few months are:
Friday, September 18
Friday, September 25
Thursday, October8
Friday, October 23
Friday, October 30
Friday, November 6
Friday, November 20
Friday, December 4
Friday December 18
Since there is such a huge gap in the Fridays in October, I have snuck in a Thursday meeting on October 8.
On to business! Each member is expected to make a commitment to make it to most of the meetings. There will be $20 in dues to cover costs, and each member needs to provide a white t-shirt which we can dye.
One of the first activities of the year is to tie dye t-shirts for the new members. This is not my area of expertise, to say the least. Are there any volunteers out there who can help with this PLEASE??? The kids are already asking about the shirts. We will hopefully get to the tie dying process towards the end of the month, depending on when I can get some volunteers.
Thanks! I look forward to a great year.
