Attend a "See the Future Tour" October 14, 2009
Community Invited to ‘See the Future Tour’ at Irish Elem.
The Poudre School District Foundation and Irish Elementary invite members of the community to attend a “See the Future,’ tour and presentation in December at the school, 515 Irish Drive.
“The purpose of the See the Future Tours are to bring community members into a school to see new innovative learning techniques that are being implemented by the staff in Poudre School District,” explained Greta Irvin, PSD Foundation executive assistant.
The last Irish Elementary tour is scheduled for 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, Dec. 9, 515 Irish Drive.
During the tour, visitors will hear how community dollars awarded to Irish Elementary School support learning and help teachers and students reach new goals. Eight grants were given to Irish in the past by the Foundation in conjunction with Encouraging Excellence in Education (E-3) and Supporting Partnerships in Innovative Education (SPIE.)
Innovative programs funded by grants given to Irish have covered a variety of areas, from helping students get glasses and improve their reading, to purchasing violins and providing lessons to students who wanted to learn to play. Other grants encouraged parent involvement in the school, and connected students and families to community resources.
