As part of implementation of the new DE 1.0 goal, the district has assembled a panel of local experts to advise district administration on the course of a program evaluation for its Child Nutrition program.
The Food Advisory Panel consists of:
- Medical Professional: Susan Klingner, M.D. (Associates in Family Medicine)
- Community Nutrition Expert: Leslie Cunningham-Sabo (Professor of Nutrition, CSU)
- Organic Food Industry: Sadie Westhoff (Team Leader, Whole Foods Fort Collins)
- Food Service Professional: Deon Lategan (Director of Student Dining, CSU)
- Local Chef: Patrick St. Clair (Executive Chef, Hilton Fort Collins)
This panel will meet periodically to discuss the following items:
- Reveiw of current Child Nutrition operations and department overview
- Survey to the community about child nutrition offerings/program in schools
- Recommendation of process for program evaluation
- Review of program evaluation results
- Recommendation of additions and/or changes to the Child Nutrition program based on program evaluation outcomes
