   Renaissance Learning 
       is the company that offers Accelerated Reader,
       STAR Reading, Accelerated Math, and our new
       Math Facts in a Flash.

   Students can no longer log on to take Accelerated Reader
       quizzes from home.  This is a district decision based on
       Renaissance Learning contract and copyright issues. 

    Students should check with their teachers for the
        best times to take AR quizzes at school.

   Students and parents can log on to the
      Renaissance Learning Home Connect web page
      to see AR and Math Facts in a Flash results and
      to practice Math Facts.

      use at school)

     For your information STAR Reading is an online diagostic test given at school several times a year to
     assess the reading level (ZPD) for AR books.  Accelerated Math is an intermediate teacher tool
     used to print and scan  math worksheets.  Accelerated Grammar and Spelling is another 
     Renaissance Learning program used by intermediate teachers to have students practice spelling
     and editing paragrahs.  These three programs are not available from home.
