KidsCareClub

Hello Parents!

Thank you so much for your interest in Kids Care Club.  I am really excited for a fun year of service projects with your kids.  For those who were not able to attend the first meeting, I wanted to tell you a little bit about KCC and what we did yesterday.

Since 9/11 is this coming Friday, the kids were able to show their appreciation for the Policemen and Firemen in Windsor by making a poster with thank you notes attached.  Our club will participate in the 9/11 National Day of Service and Remembrance by dropping the posters off (along with a potted plant and balloons) to the Fire Department and Police Station after school this Friday.  If you and your child are interested in being a part of the "Thank You Crew," please meet us at 4:00 at the Windsor Fire Department.  We will present gifts to the firemen and then drive to the Police Station to do the same.

A few miscellaneous items about Kids Care Club:

Please provide a snack for your hungry kiddos to eat after school.  We will have a snack time at the start of each meeting.

KCC will last for one hour.  Please pick up your child promptly.

This club cannot operate without the help of volunteer parents.  I have had very generous offers of help from the following people, but any additional help will be much appreciated.  If there is a project that you are willing to help with, please let me or the contact people listed below know as soon as possible.  Keep in mind that the suggested projects for each month are merely suggestions.  If you have signed up to help during a particular month and have a better idea for the project, go for it!

October--Coat Drive for the Homeless:  Michelle Gebhart, Jodie Rosencrans
November--Veterans Day/Write to Troops:  Beth Florin, Jodie Rosencrans
No December Meeting
January--MLK Day/Wall of Dreams:  Jamie Johnson, Jodie Rosencrans
February--Valentines for Nursing Home:  Michelle Gebhart, Jodie Rosencrans
March--Animal Shelter Donations:  Jamie Johnson, Jodie Rosencrans
April--Earth Day Recycling Project: Michelle Gebhart, Jamie Johnson, Jodie Rosencrans

Obviously I will be helping with each of these projects, so please share with me any further ideas you have to make this year's Kids Care Club successful.  Feel free to sign up online as a facilitator for KCC at www.kidscare.org for more project ideas.

Looking forward to a great year,

Camille Sachtleben
