Golf Club
At Blevins, we want every student to have the opportunity to participate in a sport that they enjoy. The Blevins golf club is set up to help students improve their skills and understand the basic game of golf. The golf club is open to boys and girls, and we encourage students of all levels to try out regardless of their level of experience. The Golf team practices and competes with other district schools during the spring.
Golf is a cut sport with only ten spots open each season. An informational meeting is held before Spring Break. To determine the ten-person team from the pool of applicants, the team meets with the coach on the practice range to assess and work on basic skills. After that, two rounds of nines holes are played, and the students with the ten lowest scores are selected for the team. Those who make the team will participate in weekly qualifying rounds to see who will play in that match for that week, and the top four players will compete in the weekly matches.
