MATHCOUNTS® is a national math enrichment, coaching & competition program that promotes middle school (6th, 7th, and 8th grade) mathematics achievement in every U.S. state & territory. Celebrating its 25th anniversary, MATHCOUNTS is one of the most successful education partnerships involving volunteers, educators, industry sponsors & students.
At Blevins, MathCounts is a challenging and fun way to get mathematically gifted students involved in a fun competition with the strongest math students in the District and State. The Northern Colorado regional MathCounts competition event is held each February at University of Northern Colorado. Blevins' student participants are coached and trained by Blevins' math teachers who use challenging problems that expand their skills in all areas of math. Students work together to prepare for the event and earn prizes based on their performance. Winners from the regional event are eligible to participate in the State competition in Denver in March.
This is a fun way for Blevins students to get involved in their school, participate in this academic competition, learn about math, and make some new friends.
