Spelling Bee

The Blevins Spelling Bee is open to all interested 7th and 8th graders, and the winner represents Blevins JHS in the District Spelling Bee.

The preliminary written Spelling Bee is conducted in January, and top finishers are qualified to participate in the oral Spelling Bee that is held at Blevins in late January.  The Blevins winner then competes in the District written Spelling Bee that is held in early February, and top competitors from that event go on to the District oral Spelling Bee in late February.  The top eight spellers in the District go to the State championship that is held in Denver in March.
