No School Monday, September 17
School will NOT be in session for students on Monday, September 17. Teachers and Staff will work that day on school goals, strategies to improve writing instruction and achievement, and development of a process to help students understand their individual talents. School resumes on Tuesday, September 18!
Back to School Night a success!
Thanks to all families for attending Back to School night last Thursday! We had great attendance from families who learned about their child’s teacher and classroom! Thanks to teachers who planned information to share with parents!
Inta-Juice is served on Thursdays
We are selling 8 ounce fruit smoothies made by Inta-Juice on Thursdays at lunch for $1.60. Each week a different smoothie is featured. Students who want to purchase the smoothie must bring cash. Unfortunately, money in the lunch account cannot be used for Inta-Juice.
Traffic flow after school!
Remember when you are waiting to pick up your child after school that you need to line up either next to the curb or as close as you can get to the parked cars on the north side of the front parking lot. It is essential that you leave a lane in the middle for traffic moving through the parking lot! In order to provide for every child’s safety, students will cross at the crosswalk ONLY. Please don’t beckon for your child to cross the traffic lane in a place other than the crosswalk. Amazingly, we get everyone in cars and headed home in 5 – 7 minutes! Please DO NOT leave your vehicle if you parked in line. This blocks up the entire system! If you feel the need to meet your child, please park in the lot on the east side of the school!

The PTO meets the first Tuesday of every month at 7 pm in the Music room at CLPE. Please join us! The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 2.
Eco-Week for 6th grade
Our 6th grade students are preparing for and eagerly awaiting their Eco-week experience. The students leave CLPE at 9 am or so on Wednesday, September 26 and return safely to school on Friday, September 28. I will join them for hike day on Thursday, September 27!
