Homework Club

 

Hi!  My name is Marni Lamont.  This is my second year at McGraw IB World.  This year I have a few different jobs.  I am working as a part time resource teacher, part time instructional literacy para, and homework club teacher.  I have a bachelor degree in both Elementary and Special Education.  I can't think of a more rewarding job than coming to see all the smiling children at McGraw.  I find such joy in watching each and every student learn and grow everyday!  McGraw is truly a wonderful and inspiring place.

 

HOMEWORK CLUB:  Monday - Thursday 3:45 - 4:30

Goal of Homework Club: 

1.  Get small group or one - on - one help with homework

2.  Improve your math and reading skills

3.  Get homework done at school, so you don't have to worry about it when you get home!!!

 

Homework Club Rules and Expectations

1.  Students need to be

     a.  Responsible

     b.  Independent

     c.  assertive\

2.  When students come into the media center, they are to sign in on attendance sheet, sign in on bus sheet, find the station that they are to work at for that day.  (If students have homework, they will automatically go to the homework station.  If students do not have homework with them that day, they will be assigned to either the math station, or guided reading station).

   a.  Students are expected to be Responsible, Independent, Assertive workers.

   b.  Students should raise their hand if they have a question, but continue working at the same time, until teacher gets to them.

  c.  Focus and work hard for the entire 45 minutes!!!

3.  Each student will be expected to bring their homework folder adn assignment notebook so that they can show the homework club teacher when they have completed everything.

   a.  If student finishes all of their homework, student is expected to go to the station that they are assigned to for that day.

4.  Students will be able to earn pretend money in a pretend checkbook.  Once they have earned so much money, they can use it to purchase prizes.  Students will be expected to keep track of what they earn.
