Hunter's Moon

By Makayla

Design element - 210 X 138 (4 KB)Once upon a time, there was a curious moon that loved to look at the earth. One day he looked down and saw someone crying and he looked closer to see what was wrong. It was a young boy with a ragged cloak near a crystal spring that lead into the woods.

“What’s wrong, young man?” the moon asked.

“I can’t hunt because it is dark,” the lad replied.

“Cheer up young lad. I have an idea,” said the moon in an excited voice. “While you are hunting, I will shine the way for you,” said the moon.

So the young hunter headed into the woods to hunt, but he still didn’t catch anything. “Relax,” cried the moon. So the young hunter relaxed and then he let go of the arrow. It flew right into the chest of an elk. The young boy said thank you and gave the moon his cloak.

“Here,” said the lad, “It must be cold up in the sky.”

When the moon covers up with the cloak just a little, then more of the moon shows. If it is not cold at all, and he does not use the cloak, there is a full moon. And that is how the moon got its cycles.

Why the moon smiles

By Lea

Once upon a time there was a moon that never smiled. When you looked up at him, all you saw was a frown. God looked at the moon and decided that the moon should smile and be happy and bright, so God did something about that.

That same night, a mischievous horse named Shierf was slowly falling asleep. God sent Shierf a dream that changed his life forever.

Soon, Shierf was on his hooves. “God sent me this dream for a reason, and I should obey this reason!”Design element - 234 X 154 (6 KB)

“Tweet! Tweet! Tweet!” he heard a bird’s call for help. He ran to where his bird friend Bang Bluebird’s nest to see what was going on. Bang told him that a human was stealing her friend Kaneal Chickarota and was about to eat him! Before you could say “Scrunpchi Jackerpeppers,” he was off to save his first life.

Shierf’s good deeds were heard all around the universe. The moon heard Shierf’s good deeds when Kane the cow jumped over the moon and dropped the “space papers.”

On that day, the moon started to smile for the first time in his life. Every night when the moon saw Shierf, he looked at him with alacrity, and that is why the moon smiles.

The Puppy Who Blew The Bubble

by Kaylee

My story starts with two very little puppies that lived on the planet Mercury.Their mother and father were very proud of their bubble blowing skills. They spent more than half the day outside on their planet. They loved bubbles. One day when their parents went to The Mercury Supermarket for Pups, the siblings went outside to do their favorite thing of course, blow bubbles. But when the youngest was learning from her older brother something happened. When the brother was showing the sister how to make the Elephant bubble he accidentally blew the bubble way to big and it exploded through the galaxy.Design element - 107 X 225 (8 KB)

The siblings knew that they were in trouble when their Mom and Dad got home because their house was filled inside and out with bubbles. They were more terrrified than ever in the life of ghastly winds and flying asteroids. When their parents go home they knew if they were very docile with their parents they would hopefully not get in trouble. The brother and sister were immediately sent to their room. The brother and sister were also sent to their room without dinner. The siblings walked around their room in dead silence pondering the possibilities of what had happen with their big fat Elephant bubble. The both of them looked at each other and both of them got and idea, a smart but risky idea. They decided to to to the moon that was very far away from their planet. So both of them jumped into gear and put on their most warm clothing and snuck out of the window. They went and sat on their Dad’s flying machine for the 21st century and they jumped into gear. They flew by Jupiter, Saturn, and Earth and they finally reached their destination. They jumped out of the flying machine and stared out of the moon goggles that they had put on before their journey. To their amasment all over the moon they saw the bubbles from the giant explosion. And that is how the moon got craters just from a big bubble.

THE KING AND THE MOON

By Montana

Once in a kingdom there was a king that got everything he wanted. He thought that everything was about him, until one day he looked in the sky and noticed that there was something in his kingdom that was higher than him. So he called the people in the kingdom to stack on upon each other. After he had about twenty of the people stacked on each other, there was a very poor man that was very weak. Design element - 100 X 100 (5 KB)

The king said to the poor man “don’t climb on anyone you are much to weak to hold anyone on your head, but you are strong enough to get the people that are stacked food and water.”

The man walked away from the king and his stack of of people. He had walked about a mile and peered into the sky and asked the moon “if you would let me get highter hen the king I wouldn’t let anything on earth get higher than you.”

The moon had thought for several seconds and replied “I take your offer but if anything on earth gets to be higher than me I will drop you with force.”
