Climbing Club

Olander is proud to have a rock climbing facility in its gym, and rock climbing is part of the regular physical education curriculum for all grade levels, usually during January.  Rock climbing helps develop children's physical strength and flexiblity and enhances students' confidence, self-esteem, team-work skills, trust, and enthusiasm for the sport.

Rock Climbing Club is an after-school program coordinated by Mr. MacKenzie, Olander's PE teacher, and is designed to further develop rock climbing skills for interested 5th and 6th grade students.  The club meets during February and March.

Parents are welcome to get involved by helping out with rock climbing during PE classes or during the club meetings or by just climbing with the kids.

For more information about Rock Climbing Club or parent involvement, contact Mr. MacKenzie at mmackenz@psdschools.org.
