Welcome to third grade! Third graders explore the world!
Miss Petros and Mrs. Haskett welcome you to 3rd Grade at Olander! This year we will...
- Take a trip to outer space and learn about our solar system.
- Travel to the heart of the Amazon rain forest and meet the mysterious creatures that live there.
- We’ll head across the ocean to Europe and study some of the fairy tales and folklore that originated on this continent.
- See the bottom of the world, but don’t forget your warm clothing! Antarctica is a cold, cold, place.
- Asia is also on our itinerary, where we’ll learn about Japanese traditions, eat some sushi and meet some inspiring Asian characters.
- Go on safari in Africa and meet the animals of the Sahara Desert, the Congo River Basin and the beautiful savannahs.
- Last stop, Australia! Where we will meet the most unusual animals in the world, including the Tasmanian devil and the echidna.
Along our way we’ll also explore the properties of sound and water, learn about structures of life and do plenty of fun science experiments.
