The Rice staff and community are committed to creating and maintaining an environment of academic excellence, positive behavior, and character development.
The Rice community has adopted a unique blend of the high quality PSD curriculum and the Core Knowledge sequence. Additionally, there is an emphasis on inquiry and critical thinking characterized by primary IB programs. This approach to education provides a rich, engaging curriculum and affords students the opportunity to enhance and extend their thinking skills and problem solving.
The staff at Rice has established and will continue to hold high expectations for all students both academically and behaviorally. We believe that every child can achieve academic excellence. Small group literacy instruction, flexible math groupings, and after school homework help all provide extra support for students to reach high levels of achievement. Our Positive Behavior Support (PBS) provides clear expectations, direct teaching of expected behaviors, positive reinforcement, and appropriate consequences.
Children are the focus at Rice, and the staff puts forth their best efforts every day to make school a special place for all children. I am thrilled to be working with such an enthusiastic and highly professional staff and community!
