Walking Through the Water Year
Walking Through the Water Year Project
The premise of the Walkng Through the Water Year project are monthly WATER REPORT television shows reported by students for students on the topic of water from a local perspective. This is the media component of a water and weather education initative for the state of Colorado, managed in part by the Colorado Climate Center at CSU. The USBR (US Bureau of Reclamation) in Loveland provides seed money to help with this effort. The audience for this show are middle and high school students and is broadcast throughout Fort Collins, Wellington, and Laporte on Comcast/US Cable PSD Channel 10 and uploaded monthly to Poudre School District's website. Data sets and photos for each month are also available for teachers to create activities that complement the WATER REPORT. Through the year, each show will follow a theme based on what is happening in our local water/weather environment (drought, snowfall, severe weather, etc.) to extend the drama of each month's "water story".
Poudre School District's Channel 10 is contributing the TV production component of the WTWY project. Contact: Herb Saperstone PSD Video Prod. Coordinator 970 490-3641 or by email at: herbs@psdschools.org
