Communications
Getting you what you need, when you need it
You should never have to wonder what's happening in your child's school, or dig to find out.
The PSD Communications team makes sure timely, accurate information reaches families, staff, and the community across every channel we have — email, text, our website, social media, video, and local news. When something urgent happens, we tell you quickly and plainly. When something important is being decided, we bring you into the conversation before the decision is made, not after.
We serve every PSD school and department, and we answer to the same standard the district does: educate every child, every day.
How PSD Reaches You
Email and Text Messages
Most district and school news comes to you by email and text. This includes school closures, early releases, safety notifications, and building-level updates.
To make sure you receive them, confirm your contact information is current in Synergy. You can review and update it anytime in ParentVUE, or contact your school's front office.
Automated Phone Calls
Some information is too important to risk landing in a spam folder or arriving while your phone is on silent — a lockdown at your child's school, a snow day called at 5 a.m., a deadline that affects your student's enrollment. When it's that kind of message, we send it by email, text, and phone call, because we'd rather reach you three ways than miss you once.
The calls will always come from one number: 970-490-3609.

Not sure who to ask?
Email info@psdschools.org. A real person reads it, and we'll route your question to the best person to actually answer it.
Community Engagement
Some decisions are too big for the district to make alone. Enrollment changes, budget priorities, long-range facility planning — these shape schools for a generation, and the people they affect deserve to have a voice.
That's why PSD builds committees that include families, staff, students, and community members alongside district experts, and why we run engagement sessions before recommendations are finalized rather than after.
Accessible to everyone
PSD is committed to the inclusion of all individuals, and that starts with information people can actually use. We translate district communications into Spanish and Arabic, caption our video, and build our digital content to be readable by assistive technology.
If something on this site isn't accessible to you, tell us. We want to fix it.
