PSD enrollment tops 30,000 students for the first time

Poudre School District added more than 300 students this school year, bringing the district’s total enrollment to a record 30,000 students.

“We are thrilled to welcome so many new students to our schools,” PSD Superintendent Dr. Sandra Smyser said. The growing enrollment reflects our thriving community and the hard-working educators who serve our students. This is a huge milestone for Poudre School District.”

This year, enrollment increased by 337 students, bringing total enrollment to 30,019. PSD’s 1.13 percent enrollment increase came as school districts across the state saw slowing growth. Enrollment in Colorado schools increased about 0.6 percent this year, the smallest increase since the 1989-1990 school year, according to the Colorado Department of Education.

Except for the 2016-2017 school year, PSD has added 300 to 500 students every year for the past decade.
