Registration for new PSD before- and after-school care provider opens May 1

Selected as Poudre School District’s new before- and after-school childcare provider, AlphaBEST opens enrollment May 1 for PSD families to sign up for services in the 2020-21 school year.

A secure registration platform is available on the AlphaBEST website.

AlphaBEST’s before-school programs will run 6:30 a.m. until the school’s first bell Mondays through Fridays; after-school programs will operate from the time of school dismissal until 6 p.m.

As part of its contract, approved by the PSD Board of Education, AlphaBEST’s rates are about 20-25 percent lower, as compared with rates of PSD’s former before- and after-school care provider. Families who qualify for free or reduced-price meals, active military members and PSD employees are eligible for discounts.

Scholarships are available, made possible through AlphaBEST’s allocation of 13% of its revenues to support them. AlphaBEST also accepts Colorado Child Care Assistance Program (CCCAP) vouchers with no limit on the number of CCCAP slots.

AlphaBEST’s licensed staff ensure children are safe, engaged and happy. Daily schedules include snacks, homework help, recreation, student-choice clubs, and an hour of enrichment activities such as coding, robotics, art, drama, Spanish, Mandarin, Sign Language, fitness and sports, and more.  Programming will align with each school’s strategic goals.

As a fully licensed program, AlphaBEST follows state required staff-to-student ratios, with no fewer than one staff member to every 15 students. Students are served a daily snack that adheres to U.S. Department of Agriculture guidelines and state regulations.

AlphaBEST was selected as PSD’s new before- and after-school childcare provider following a competitive Request for Proposal, or RFP, process, required by PSD policy.

It is unknown when AlphaBEST will move into district facilities to provide services since PSD schools and facilities are closed through the end of the 2019-20 school year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

More information about the childcare services will be shared when it becomes available.
