Poudre School District is responding to the COVID-19 pandemic and planning accordingly for summer and the 2020-21 school year. As part of that work, PSD is following a staggered plan to responsibly re-open district facilities.
At least through first quarter of the 2020-21 school year (approximately 9 weeks from the start of school), PSD facilities will not be available to rent by community groups, organizations or individuals.
District staff need time to optimize health, safety, sanitization and disinfecting protocols and align those with internal use before deciding whether to allow outside group use of PSD facilities. PSD will re-evaluate this decision after first quarter and communicate further updates with our community partners.
Starting June 22, PSD will open outdoor facility spaces for internal PSD athletics use only. Each school is required to submit a plan to the district that details how its coaches and athletes will remain compliant with local and state public health and education officials’ COVID-19 guidance, requirements and orders regarding recreation. Later this summer, PSD will also open gyms and weight rooms for internal PSD athletic group use, provided that groups submit a compliance plan to ensure social distancing is followed and group sizes are limited, in accordance with public health guidance.
PSD athletes and parents will be asked to sign a participation waiver before engaging in athletics activities at district indoor and outdoor facilities.
Thank you in advance for your understanding as we navigate and evolve with this public health crisis. Our decisions remain rooted in a commitment to the health and safety of our students, staff and community members.
