All PSD non-charter school buildings will operate on a 2-hour delay Monday, Jan. 26, due to forecasted cold temperatures. Remote learning will not take place. Schools will dismiss at the regular time unless families are notified otherwise. Lunch service will continue as scheduled.
Canceled activities
Because of the delayed start, the following are canceled:
- Breakfast service
- Field trips
- Meetings scheduled before or during the delay
- Before-school AlphaBEST care (check with your provider for other childcare options)
Activities continuing as scheduled
Unless participants are notified otherwise, these will still take place:
- After-school athletics and activities
- Facilities rentals
- After-school AlphaBEST care (check with your provider)
Transportation
Buses will pick up students two hours later than the regular schedule. Cold weather and road conditions may cause delays. Families should check the Zum bus-tracking app for updates.
Please use caution and allow extra travel time. If your student typically walks or bikes, consider driving or carpooling if possible.
Middle and high schools
Please check with your school for details on how the delayed start may affect class schedules. The delay also applies to the PSD Career Tech Center.
Early Childhood
Early childhood full-day programs will begin with a two-hour delay. Morning early childhood sessions are canceled. Afternoon sessions will operate on their regular schedule.
Charter and private schools
PSD- and state-authorized charter schools and local private schools make weather-related decisions independently. Please contact those schools directly.
