Alison Ferguson Announced as New Principal of Johnson Elementary School

Poudre School District is pleased to announce that Alison Ferguson has been selected as the next principal of Johnson Elementary School beginning in the 2026-2027 school year. Mrs. Ferguson brings more than a decade of administrative experience to the position with a focus on making all children feel welcome.

Mrs. Ferguson served as the assistant principal from 2015 to 2019 at Billie Martinez Elementary School and as both assistant principal and then principal of Meeker Elementary from 2019 to the present; both schools are in the Greeley-Evans School District 6. She holds an Ed.S. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Northern Colorado and brings with her expertise in programmatic design and expansion with a focus on early childhood, dual language and significant support needs services.

Mrs. Ferguson operates as a strategic problem-solver who specializes in translating district-wide initiatives into actionable school-level goals, with a strong emphasis on instructional rigor and inclusive school culture. The transition into PSD is especially meaningful for her as it is the community she grew up in and where she and her husband are raising their three children.

"I am honored to join the Johnson Elementary community and look forward to building on its strong foundation of excellence,” she said. “My mission is to ensure every student feels seen and supported through an inclusive culture and rigorous instruction. By fostering both belonging and academic challenge, we will prepare today’s child with the confidence and critical thinking skills necessary to thrive in tomorrow’s world."

“We are excited to welcome Alison Ferguson to PSD. She brings with her a strong track record of student achievement, creating inclusive environments, and inspiring leadership,” Assistant Superintendent Dr. Traci Gile said. “Johnson Elementary remains an incredible place where children grow, and Alison will champion students and staff to thrive in this school community."

Please join us in welcoming Alison Ferguson as she prepares to lead Johnson Elementary School into its next chapter.
