Poudre School District is excited to announce that Kathy Sampson has been selected as the next principal of Lincoln Middle School, beginning in the 2026-27 school year. Sampson brings nearly two decades of experience in education and a deep personal connection to Lincoln, having served as its assistant principal and previously as a math teacher.
Sampson holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics with an emphasis in education from Western State Colorado University, a master's degree in mathematics from the University of Northern Colorado, and a principal license from Colorado State University.
Throughout her career in PSD, Sampson has served as a classroom teacher, instructional leader, dean of students, and most recently as assistant principal at Lincoln. She has received recognition for her instructional leadership and commitment to student success, including being featured in two nationally published education books. She has shared her learning with educators through speaking engagements, hosting national labs, and teaching university classes. She develops systems to support student learning and has helped build an inclusive school culture where all students can thrive.
Sampson is honored to step into this role and sees Lincoln as a truly special community. She is committed to ensuring every student has the opportunity to grow and succeed, and she looks forward to partnering with staff and families as they continue moving forward together.
Outside of school, Sampson loves spending time with her husband and two boys. The family can often be found at the baseball fields on weekends. She is also a proud dog lover who enjoys every moment with her pups.
“I am proud to support Kathy Sampson as she moves into the principal position at Lincoln next year,” said Assistant Superintendent Julie Chaplain. “Her instructional leadership and deep knowledge of the Lincoln staff, students, and families will allow her to move Lincoln forward to achieve high academic outcomes paired with wrap-around support for student needs that will prepare them for high school and beyond.”
Please join us in welcoming Kathy Sampson as she prepares to lead Lincoln Middle School into its next chapter.
