golf champsEven with the end of the school year in sight, the Timnath Middle-High School girls golf team was fully locked in at the state golf tournament, walking away with individual honors and also seizing the Class 3A title.

Over a two-day competition in Denver, the Cubs scored an impressive win over competitors from across the state, finishing 13 strokes over par and ending with nearly a 30-stroke lead ahead of the second-place team to claim the 3A title.

Several girls on the team also earned personal honors, with junior Cheyanne Schrick placing first, freshman Peyton Landon placing second, and freshman Isla Carlucci tying a senior from Littleton High School for third in individual results. This is the second straight year that Cheyanne Schrick has placed first in the state golf competition, finishing this year’s competition 2 under par. Fellow Timnath golfer Sienna Schrick also placed 21st in the state competition.

Coach Brooke Walser said this win is a reflection of the incredible dedication the team has shown all season long as they went undefeated. She credited the team’s countless hours of hard work, practice, and commitment to improvement.

“What makes this team so special is not just their talent, but the way they support each other and compete with so much heart,” she said. “It has been such an amazing experience coaching this group, and I couldn’t be more proud of everything they’ve accomplished. This championship is so well deserved, and I’m beyond excited to see where golf takes each of them in the future.”

“It is always great to watch our students compete at the highest level in activities they are passionate about. They excel and show just how much work they have put in by winning championships,” said Superintendent Brian Kingsley. “I want to send a huge congratulations to the Timnath Middle-High School girls golf team for putting their all in every day and representing PSD students at the highest level. Students like you are what make PSD the fantastic district it is!”
