PSD students name snowplows for City's "Frosty Fleet"

The City of Fort Collins is thrilled to announce the finalized selection of names from the “Frosty Fleet” snowplow naming contest. During the latest snowstorm, the City of Fort Collins snowplow drivers had a blast choosing six standout names from a list of the top 20, and here they are:

"Snowzilla" - Bacon Elementary, third grade, teacher Lindsey Garwood
"Snowbacca" - Beattie Elementary, fourth grade, teacher Vanessa Lucero
"Blizzard of Oz" - Werner Elementary, first grade, teacher Sarah Krueger
"Larry" - Bennett Elementary, first grade, Ainsle McConnell
"The Abominable Snow Monster" - Zach Elementary, fourth grade, teacher Liz Stafford
"ScoopDog" - Bacon Elementary, fifth grade, teacher Ryan Dill

Reframing her struggles into a positive impact inspired her to talk to her classmates about eating disorders and start an Eating Disorder Alliance.

Being a Chick-fil-A restaurant manager while graduating high school wasn't easy, but Tyson Danford has supportive teachers and counselors at Fossil Ridge High School leading him to success.

After a rough start freshman year, Armando Granados-Porter chose to attend Poudre Community Academy. Being in and out of school due to the pandemic created big ups and downs in his high school career, but he met senior year with unwavering focus.

Active in academics at Fossil Ridge High School and the community as a volunteer, Melissa Wong is leaving a legacy by looking through the lenses of anthropology, biology, linguistics, history, and more to analyze the world and remind us that community matters.

PSD Retention Guidelines

Some teachers or parents/guardians may want to hold a student back a grade for a variety of reasons. PSD considers these requests following these guidelines.
