When teen mental health struggles spiked during the height of the pandemic, the need for increased support and awareness became more urgent than ever before.
Poudre School District took note and took action.
Tickets are now on sale for TEDxMountain Ave’s 2024 spring annual event, which will be held Wednesday, May 1, at Poudre High School, 201 Impala Drive, Fort Collins. Speakers will share their unique voices on this year’s theme: Flourish. This will be the third time the TEDxMountain Ave leadership team has coordinated and hosted the event.
The Ninth Annual Mental Health Matters event, showcasing mental health community and school resources, will be held Tuesday, April 16, at Fossil Ridge High School, 5400 Ziegler Road, Fort Collins. Speakers will address a wide range of mental health topics that impact people of all ages. This free event is open to all students and families.
Members of the Poudre School District community are invited to a curriculum engagement night to review materials being considered for science, social studies, math, and secondary literacy curricula.
The curriculum night will be held 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 25, at Lesher Middle School, 1400 Stover St., in Fort Collins.

In the coming months, a new Facilities Planning Steering Committee will start the challenging and necessary work of evaluating the placement of educational programs, considering school and program consolidations and modifying school attendance areas. These changes will not go into effect any sooner than the 2025-26 school year.
The City of Fort Collins, Poudre River Public Library District, and Poudre School District (PSD) are proud to announce a commitment among the three organizations to open a new community innovation center in southeast Fort Collins.
The southeast community innovation center, which was promised to the voters in 2015, will feature a state-of-the-art public library, multi-use spaces, as well as recreation and aquatics facilities. The center will be built on the 10 acres of land that PSD owns adjacent to Fossil Ridge High School.
Players from Poudre School District’s four comprehensive high schools will go head-to-head again in cross-town football games at Colorado State University’s Canvas Stadium this fall during the Canvas Community Classic.
Fossil Ridge and Fort Collins High Schools will kick off at 4:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 6, at Sonny Lubick Field on CSU’s main campus in Fort Collins. Following that, Rocky Mountain High School will take on Poudre High School at 7 p.m.
A new shelter in Northern Colorado will offer essential services to youth and young adults ages 15-20 who are on their own and in need of immediate support.
The Colorado Department of Local Affairs announced the award of $4.7 million dollars to build and launch the shelter, which will be located at 814 E. 16 Street in Loveland, the former site of Thompson School District’s Monroe Early Childhood Center.
