Dear Poudre School District families,
The Poudre School District has made the decision to change this Friday, August 22, from a two-hour release due to heat to a full normal day given forecasted weather conditions. This does NOT apply to Wednesday, August 20 or Thursday, August 21, which will still be two-hour early release days. Please refer to the message that was sent on August 15 for additional information about early release days.

What a wonderful first day of school! Today, I had the privilege of visiting several campuses and was inspired by the excitement – from students eager to learn, to families celebrating new beginnings, to our incredible staff welcoming everyone to classrooms across the district. The energy across our schools was inspiring.

Even though school isn’t in session, the hard work of Poudre School District students continues to be recognized.
Four 2025 graduates were named winners of National Merit Scholarships this year, as announced by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation from April through July. These students were selected among tens of thousands of others nationwide.

The Poudre School District (PSD) Board of Education has appointed Andrew Spain to fill the vacant District E seat following a vote during its special meeting on Tuesday, June 17.
Poudre School District is already out of this world when it comes to education, but one of our wonderful high schools has taken that phrase to new heights.
Poudre High School recently received one of several “Moon Trees,” the seedling of a Douglas-fir that traveled more than 268,000 miles from Earth before returning to the ‘pale blue dot.’
