What meal programs are available (breakfast, lunch, free/reduced-price meals)?
In Colorado, breakfast and lunch are free for all students. However, we encourage families to also apply for PSD’s free and reduced meal program. Families who apply and qualify can also receive reduced internet and utility rates, P-EBT payments, Fort Collins Recreation Center and city pool discounts (including classes and youth sports leagues), grocery tax rebates, waived college application fees, waived fees for school sports and field trips, and more. If you doubt your family will qualify, please apply anyway.
What health and wellness supports are available for students?
- PSD has two health and wellness clinics, one at Lincoln Middle School and one at Centennial High School. These offer medical and mental health care to all PSD students.
- Each school has an assigned school nurse and health technician to respond to any health needs that come up throughout the day. These needs can include CPR/AED/First Aid, EpiPen and medication administration, illness supervision, emergency plans, minor injury and wound care, and communication with parents/guardians. In addition, vision, hearing, and dental screenings are offered.
- PSD has a robust program for supporting student and staff mental health. All PSD schools are staffed with licensed school counselors, who are equipped to offer academic, social/emotional and career interest assistance from proactive, day-to-day support to individualized plans and crisis intervention. Additional resources are publicized throughout each school.
