Students across the Poudre School District consistently give their all in the classroom. This academic excellence is evident once again as several PSD students have been selected as National Merit Scholarship semifinalists.
A total of 11 students across PSD schools and PSD-authorized charters were named semifinalists, standing out among the 1.3 million juniors across the country who took the 2024 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
The PSD students named semifinalists include:
- Katharine Glover, Fort Collins High School
- Lara Seager, Fossil Ridge High School
- Misha Suthar, Fossil Ridge High School
- Emily Virata, Fossil Ridge High School
- Hannah Barquero, Rocky Mountain High School
- Elinor Bickley, Timnath Middle-High School
- Matthew Norris, Wellington Middle-High School
Four additional students from three PSD-authorized charter schools were also named as semifinalists for scholarships.
“This is an incredible achievement for these students and illustrates the determination of all Poudre School District students,” said Superintendent Brian Kingsley. “Congratulations to these incredible young leaders; I wish you luck throughout this process and know you will go on to do amazing things.”
Poudre School District has a history of National Merit Scholarship success. Earlier this year, four students were recognized as winners of National Merit Scholarships. Each student received money from the NMSC or from other sponsored organizations.
Scholarship finalists for this round will be announced in four releases between April and July next year.
