New Elementary Literacy Curriculum Adopted

Beginning in the 2023-24 school year, the majority of elementary schools in Poudre School District will use a new elementary literacy curriculum. The new curriculum, adopted by the PSD Board of Education on April 4, 2023, is called Imagine Learning EL Education K-5.

(Translations: Español Curriculum Adoption  |  عربي  Curriculum Adoption)

This curriculum will be used in all elementary schools except for Core Knowledge schools and dual language immersion schools; these schools will have their own literacy curriculum to meet their unique needs.

  • Bethke, O’Dea, Traut, and Zach will use Amplify CKLA Skills K-2
  • Harris and Irish will continue to use McGraw-Hill Wonders and Maravillas as English/Spanish companion programs

Imagine Learning EL Education K-5 is a nationally recognized, teacher-developed curriculum that offers hands-on, multi-sensory activities and high quality texts. You can find more information posted on the PSD Elementary Literacy Materials Adoption web page and in this board presentation about the literacy curriculum (YouTube).

Thanks to hundreds of hours of work by the Literacy Materials Review Team, elementary school leaders, Teaching and Learning team, parents/guardians and many others, this K-5 adoption will provide direction and improve literacy instruction and student learning across PSD for the next decade.
