Thank you, teachers! National Teacher Appreciation Week is May 8-12

We are proud to honor each of our amazing 2,133 teachers in Poudre School District during National Teacher Appreciation Week, May 8-12. We celebrate our teachers and the difference they make with our students by educating and challenging them academically while connecting with them personally. Thank you, teachers, for all that you do.

A resolution in support of National Teacher Appreciation Week will be presented to the PSD Board of Education at their meeting, Tuesday, May 9.

$9.7M federal grant to address the need for more mental health professionals in schools

Poudre School District, in collaboration with the Master of Social Work Program (MSW) at Colorado State University, will launch a one-of-a-kind program this fall that seeks to tackle two major issues: a need for more mental health professionals in schools and a lack of graduates to keep up with demand.

Laurel students connect body, mind and emotions through dance

Every Wednesday morning between spring and summer breaks, the music room at Laurel Elementary School transforms into a dance studio.

A group of 14 first-graders are the first to trickle into the room for a 45-minute specials class, some bursting with giggles and wiggles, others more reserved. Jessica Loveall, the school psychologist and former professional dancer who developed this class, turns on gentle, wordless music and leads students through a series of movements back and forth across the room.
