Student Records and Transcripts
PSD processes record requests for current and former students online through ScribOrder.
Current high school students and parents are encouraged to work with their school's counseling office to obtain transcripts for postsecondary institutions.
Request Student Records
Online requests for a student’s education record are subject to a $5.00 transaction fee (this fee does not apply to requests from other K–12 schools/districts). Additional fees may apply per the current board-adopted schedule of student fees and other select charges.
Fee/Charge Waivers for Qualifying Students
Fee waivers are only available to PSD students. You must submit a waiver form each school year for fees and charges to be waived for that year.
To avoid the ScribOrder convenience fee, you may request records in person at the school site, the Records Department, or through the steps described below. Applicable fees and charges remain unless a Fee/Charge Waiver has been completed.
Eligibility Requirements
To have eligible fees/charges waived, you must:
- Be approved for free or reduced-priced meals for the current school year (see federal income and eligibility requirements and apply online on the Free and Reduced Lunch web page).
- Complete the Permission to Share Information for Fee/Charge Waivers form at your child’s school or online through ParentVue for the current school year, allowing PSD’s Child Nutrition Department to share eligibility status with appropriate district officials. Eligibility information is kept confidential. Contact the school if you need assistance or a new activation code.
ScribOrder Instructions For Fee Waivers (if eligible)
After submitting your request and reaching the “Update Fees – Prepare for Checkout” page:
- Click "Request Hardship Fee Waiver".
- When prompted, enter: "Eligible for Fee Waiver". This also waives the $5.00 convenience fee, and records may still be sent electronically.
The Records Department will verify eligibility and approve or deny the request.
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
FERPA is a federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. FERPA grants parents/guardians (“Parents”) specific rights regarding their child’s education records (20 U.S.C. § 1232g; 34 CFR Part 99). These rights transfer to the student (“Eligible Student”) once the student turns 18 or attends school beyond the high school level.
An Eligible Student’s education records may be released to a Parent with the Eligible Student’s written consent, appropriate legal documentation, or certification that the Eligible Student was claimed as a dependent for tax purposes in the previous tax year.
In accordance with FERPA and Poudre School District Policy JRA/JRC, student education records will not be released to a third party without written consent unless the disclosure is otherwise permitted under FERPA. FERPA Notification of Rights.
Transcripts
PSD transcripts include: legal name; PSD ID and Colorado State ID; primary home address and phone number; date of birth; gender; grades with weighted and unweighted cumulative averages (Policy IKC); class rank (high school only); AP and IB course designations; enter/leave dates (if applicable); graduation date (if applicable); and graduation requirements (Policy IKF).
Per SB20-175, transcripts no longer include national assessment, SAT, or ACT scores. Scores may be requested from the school or District Records Department but may not be considered official by post‑secondary institutions. Official scores must be requested directly from the SAT College Board or ACT.
Special Education Records
PSD is an Enrich Electronic Transfer participating district. K-12 Districts should email these special education requests to ieptransfer@psdschools.org. For more information on special education, please visit the Integrated Services webpage.
Retention of special education records:
Special education service records that ended before January 1, 2015, have been destroyed, as retention was five years after the student moved districts, graduated, or stopped receiving services, in accordance with District Policy EHB – Records Retention and the Colorado State Archives. Service records with an end date on or after January 1, 2015, are retained electronically on a permanent basis unless the parent/guardian or eligible student requests destruction.
Additional Records Not Maintained by the Records Department:
- Diplomas: PSD does not keep copies of diplomas but the Records Department does hold original diplomas not picked up at graduation.
- GED records: PSD does not maintain GED records. Contact Diploma Sender at https://diplomasender.com/ or 855-876-3774.
- HiSET: State-issued high school equivalency credential can be accessed at The HiSET Exam | High School Equivalency Diploma | HiSET.
