June 4 listening session expanded to include more options, moved to RMHS

The PSD Board of Education looks forward to hearing feedback from all who wish to participate at their June 4 listening session focused on potential school consolidation, closure, and boundary adjustment scenarios. In order to hear more voices and have a more collaborative process, the listening session will be structured in a conversational style, mirroring the format used at the Facilities Planning Steering Committee’s eight listening sessions. This is a change in format from the board’s April 16 listening session.

The meeting date will remain the same. However, the time and location have changed to fit this modified format and to offer more time options to better accommodate the varied schedules of our families, staff, and community members.

Six one-hour sessions will take place in classrooms at Rocky Mountain High School, located at 11300 W. Swallow Road, Fort Collins, on Tuesday, June 4. One board member will be assigned to each classroom. Three one-hour sessions will also be held online at 10 a.m., 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. on June 4.

Registration for in-person sessions opened May 13 and is now closed due to attendance being at capacity. Those interested are encouraged to participate in one of the three virtual sessions at 10 a.m., 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. A Zoom link  for those will be provided closer to the meeting.

Those attending will spend the hour talking with the school board member in their room. Any questions an attendee has that are not answered during the conversation can be written on a notecard, along with a contact email address. Board members will collect these cards after every session. The sessions will not be livestreamed.

We appreciate your interest in this important topic and your patience as we continue through this process together.
